Lusam Technologies is a provider of structured cabling solutions that integrate all of your communication needs into a single, efficient system. Gone is the era when you must maintain separate systems for voice, data, and video. Increase your productivity and reduce costs by utilizing cutting edge technology in your office or campus environment. We offer copper and fiber optics cabling that will provide high-speed, reliable data transfer and years of top-level performance. We also provide wiring for Intrusion Detection Systems, Fire Alarm, and Intercom Systems, as well as wiring for Point of Sale and Data Collection Systems.
COPPER CABLING Cat5e: This is ethernet cabling for LAN that provides standard performance. Cat5e is commonly used to connect from each device directly to the MDF/Switch. This cable provides transmission speed of up to 100mbps at up to 100 meters distance. Cat6/Cat6A: Cat6 cabling improves upon the performance of Cat5e, providing performance up to 250Mhz (vs 100Mhz for Cat 5e), and features more stringent specifications for cross talk and system noise. Cat6 is the standard for Gigabit Ethernet, providing data transmission rates of up to 10GBase-T at a reduced maximum distance of 55 meters. Cat6A on the other hand has improve alien crosstalk characteristics, allowing 10GBase-T to be run for the same 100-meter maximum distance as Cat5e. Coaxial Cable: Coaxial cable is the kind of copper cable installed for business networks and other types of local area networks (LANs). IT is called “coaxial” because it includes one physical channel that carries the signal, a layer of insulation, then another concentric physical channel that is the ground. Both channels run along the same axis to carry information a great distance. It is used in such applications as telephone trunk lines, broadband internet networking cables, high speed computer data busses, carrying cable television signals, and connecting radio transmitters and recievers to their antennas. They support speed up to 10 – 100Mbps over a distance of up to 500 meters.
FIBER OPTIC CABLING Fiber optic is a network cable that contains strands of glass fibers inside an insulated casing. They’re designed for long-distance, high-performance data networking and telecommunications. Fiber is most commonly used to run voice and data between buildings or between LAN’s (Local Area Networks) creating a WAN (Wide Area Network) in a large building complex. Data transmission speed for fiber optic cables are rated at 10 Gbps, 40 Gbps, and 100 Gbps. Because light can travel for much longer distances over a fiber cable without losing its strength, the need for signal boosters is lessened. Fiber optic cable is less susceptible to interference.
